teaserrico_review2020-130x100In this review, Rico and coauthors discuss the complex interplay between RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) in developing and mature neurons. These complex networks are crucial for important regulatory pathways controlling all aspects of brain homeostasis including neurogenesis, synaptic transmission and synaptic plasticity. Therefore, imbalances in RBP homeostasis cause neurological and neuropsychiatric diseases such as epilepsy and autism spectrum disorders.
